DVD or laptop to use the net with a TV?

Posted by Awe-d-o-file on February 8, 2015 at 14:18:30:

I found a nice cheap; all region blu ray with a web browser not just apps. I'd like to watch YT videos but want to be able to choose the resolution/sound quality. I've never seen a YT app from Apple TV or any DVD player that allows you to change this. I started reading what little info there is on DVD players with a web browser and it looks like those don't support flash and I have no idea how much control these(pseudo) browsers do or do not have. I'm thinking I should just get a laptop w/HDMI and a wireless keyboard. Sit in the chaor with the keyboard while the laptop is at the TV. I'm not thrilled about using the DVD interface where you choose one letter/character at a time anyway. So any thoughts on this are welcome.
