I should have held on to my Samsung 27" monitor/TV that I just dumped. It died with a loud pop. I figured that it was the power supply, bit I only know enough to be dangerous.
I'd bought another one for my wife and she didn't care, so I replaced her's with a 24" and didn't worry.
Then, I found out both of my subs weren't working when I swapped preamps. What? It's only obvious for video if you're listening for it. Still for not noticing, I'll have to turn in my audiophile card.
Anyway, one plate amp was dead. The other had a blown fuse. Like you, I found one on ePay, but it was expired. I emailed the guy and it was sold, but he repairs them quite reasonably.
I just mailed it off. Pray that I get it back and will cheer like you.
How do you even get the TV apart in 10 minutes? Those things look impossible unless you find a Youtube with the trick.
