Billy Bob Thornton is awesome as usual. The direction on this installment is a little uneven, but it's engaging. Dennis Quaid, Beau Bridges and Amy Brenneman are wonderful in their respective roles. I binge-watched the first 4 episodes... Will try to finish it this weekend!
Follow Ups:
Cast upgrades, In Dreams by Roy. The interaction with nature? Not sure about that yet.

I liked the first season, but the second was just OK, a big step down, I thought.
The third was a big disappointment to me. It reminded me of "Gotham", with all its totally improbably, and frankly - teenage-silly, situations.
The first season was real, it was gritty and realistic.
I agree on Billy Bob - and the others... they did marvelous job, but they just could not save that white elephant.
I thought the direction was VERY disjointed.. Billy Bob AND the assistant (Patty) MAKE the whole thing watchable. IMO they do need a new director though and scriptwriters. I have never really been a fan of Billy Bob's until now... It's certainly better than any of the trash that the major networks put on a regular basis...
He is more than capable of nuanced performance, it is a shame he had to do this one. Great cast, no questions about that.
Binge watched season 3. Have enjoyed all three seasons and the range of character development.
Cheers.

I wanted MORE closure and justice especially for certain characters!
As for closure, some characters received justice, others didn't, pretty much like real life. I do feel like the central story worked and the back stories moved everything forward in the series.

...I enjoyed the third as well.

...-.
but it had it's moments... I think season #1 was also helped by some heavy weight actors, while season #2 had little to none... I will say for anyone that has NOT seen the series, that you really should watch ALL the seasons as characters from #1 and #2 make appearances in #3..
One is great.
Three has potential IF you can get past Chinatown (we're two episodes in).
Sorry to butt in, but SOMEONE needed to warn you before you invested another moment in Season 2!
