It seem interesting that the latest titles "Black Hawk Down" and "A Beautiful Mind" have been deeply discounted, to average retail prices ranging from $15.99 and $17.00, respectively, on their release. Even the new "Pearl Harbor" 4DVD set, at prices around $25.00...for FOUR DVD's !!!!!Talk about "fixing" the books, and artificially pumping up DVD sales! While one has to shell out regular prices for regular, and aesthetically solid titles, all these new releases get "dumped" on the market like the new Hootie and the Blowfish CD.
We all know what happened to Hootie and the Blowfish !

Good points. Blackhawk Down and Beautiful mind weren't altogether terrible movies. I think it's a good sign that they're not raping people with $35 DVD prices like they used to/sometimes do.But it brings chills down my spine thinking that some people will actually go and buy the 4 disk Pearl Harbour set and be completely utterly thrilled with what they believe is a superb movie. Think about it. They can't print up millions of these and not sell a single one. Which must mean that there are millions, and millions of morons out there buy this shit??? It scares me.
...that's why it's being offered in expanded deluxe sets with special deals including raffle tickets, lotto prizes and McDonald's old Monopoly game pieces (okay, maybe the Monopoly pieces are a "slight" exaggeration! ;^D). I suspect that "Black Hawk Down" and "A Beautiful Mind" will have their profits maximized by selling at the highly discounted rates, at least initially; besides, you can almost bet the farm that Director's Cuts are being prepared at premium prices for both films!
