I also like Russell Crowe's work. He does the Insider and A Beatiful Mind, and wins the Oscar for Gladiator - go figure!
Eric Bana may be another Australian/NZ actor to watch out for. In "Chopper" he shows a lot of the range and subtlety that Crowe has. He's playing Bruce Banner in the upcomming Hulk movie. He's a thug in Chopper, and I'm interested in seeing him do at the opposite as Bruce Banner (in the teaser he looks about 80lbs lighter than in Chopper). I posted a comment on Bana a while back on this film board.
