Just wondering what y'all thought of The Sixth Sense. I found it mildly entertaining with a few moments of real surprise and horror. Then I got to the end... I know we're supposed to enjoy the surprise of being fooled ("Gee, and I thought he was really alive this whole time"), and I might have if so many films today didn't go for a "surprise" ending. But this "surprise" is one we've seen before: Lulu on the Bridge, Carnival of Souls, etc.
...quite good, a few good chills - but nothing profound. I think it seems even better than it is given how uniformly lousy recent releases have been. Its getting to the point that a movie that doent actively insult you with ridiculous plot devices or complete lapses in credibility is getting quite hard to find. Hollywood has always been about product, but dammit the product is getting quite stale...joe
I thought you were talking about the typical ghost story which took on a wierd twist in "Gotham".

... didn't want another Batman convo
I liked Sixth Sense because of the ending. Then I watched the supplemental discussions of "a religious experience" by the Director and puked. Ok, maybe not, but success really went to his head. Watching SS another time to catch all the clues was mild fun but halfway through got bored. I'd give it a 3/4 stars. Not bad for entertainment. Glad everybody got rich off it and their names weren't Lucas and Speilberg.
Something you're glad you saw, but wouldn't own. It's quite entertaining to watch initially (_****) but the story can rather get old the 3rd time (_*_*_) even with a year in between viewings. So, you can say it rates (*_*_*), but that doesn't quite describe it reliably.
