Hell yeah.
Never mind the propaganda angle.
Any dumbell can watch a movie [it's not like you have to actually do *anything*] and then open up about it. Everyone's an authority on movies. Not everyone's an authority on Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, or the ancient craft of origami or the finer water-colors of Albert Marquet, or a basic fucking human sense of compassion and charity, but everyone's an authority on the movies.
