Any other fans of this fine film out there?

Follow Ups:
Count me in, as well as other fine films by Powell and Pressburger like The Red Shoes, Tales of Hoffmann, Black Narcissus (another great Deborah Kerr performance).

I also consider I Know Where I'm Going, A Canterbury Tale and Stairway to Heaven as mandatory viewing for folks who like Powell & Pressburger. What an amazing run of great films this team produced in the forties (starting with One of Our Aircraft Is Missing).

I watch this every year. I had it on laserdisc for years and now have it on the superb Criterion DVD transfer. It's hard to believe that this technicolor Powell-Pressberger masterpiece was filmed during war time 1943 England. The film has so much to speak of: Livesey's acting and aging, Deborah Kerr's multiple performances, the friendship between the two men, etc.
Of course the film was not a favorite of Churchill's. It was due to Scorsese's love for the film that it was one of Criterion's first laserdisc transfers, and the current Scorcese commentary was also on the LD.
