Beautifuol women ( Mazine Bahns, Amanda peet, Cameron Diaz, and Jennifer Aniston) abound in this rehash of themes contained in Edward Burns' earlier film, "The Brothers McMullen. If "She's the One" had stayed a romantic comedy instead of adding in "big" themes it would have been more successful, IMHO. But the girls are worth watching...

Follow Ups:
It has been some time since I have seen this film, but I do not recall Amanda Peet and Cameron Diaz being in the film, which leads me to believe they were not very significant, particularly in light of the fact that I do recall Jennifer Aniston. As I recall, this was her first film role for which she was taken seriously because it was for a small filmmaker like Edward Burns, rather than a major Hollywood production. In any event, I thought this role showed that she was capable of more than we saw on Friends.John Mahoney is, once again, the most memorable charachter in an otherwise forgettable film. I got the impression that because The Brothers McMullen came from nowhere, garnered lots of praise and some momentum, Burns felt as though he needed to get another fire in the oven before it cooled down. As you wrote, Brothers McMullen renamed the Fitzpatricks.
Peet has a small part, Diaz a major, not to say pivotal, one.
