The other night IFC ran "Return of the Secaucus Seven"...no stars (unless you count Gordon Clapp!), no big moments (who will impregnate me tonight?), and no Motown (film's budget wouldn't allow it). Not a great movie, but several nice moments. I like Sayles' low-key approach.
Just curious, has Lawrence Kasdan ever mentioned "Secaucus"? After all, it did come out well before "The Big Chill" and it has a similar theme.
