Saw recently a newspaper listing of Premiere Mag's top 50 list of
actors, actresses...recall scoffs at Tom Cruise being ranked #3
and Julia Roberts being #7(?) over Marlon Brando and Katherine Hepburn, respectively. Don't recall exactly who made the list, but don't remember actors like Lawerence Oliver, Richard Burton, Charles
Laughton, David Niven, Anthony Hopkins, Walter Brennan, Montgomery
Cliff, Robert Taylor, Joseph Cotton, Lee J. Cobb, William Holden,George Raft, Paul Muni,T. Mifune, et.al being on list, and actresses like Myrna Loy, Marlene Dietriech,
Bette Davis, Joan Fontaine, Claudette Colbert, Helen Hayes, Susan
Hayward, Vivien Leigh, Joan Crawford, Lana Turner, Olivia de Haviland, et al, on the list. Is anyone familiar with this list? ~AH

Premiere thinks that Lucas is the greatest director of all time...which pretty much says it all.I watched 3 really great films last night - Seven Samurai, Public Enemy, Best Years of Our Lives...
On his worst day, Toshiro Mifune was a better actor than anyone in Hollywood in the past 20 years.
Cagney was totally brilliant.
The entire cast of BYOL was better than anyone on that list.
Hollywood doesn't make movies anymore. It makes video games with commercials.
Off to watch some Lubitsch and John Ford.
Julia Roberts is #7...#7 most annoying person on the planet.

...must have been written by and for a younger folks who have never seen the classic films with those great actors/actresses. Julia Roberts #7 all time? Not hardly.
