The question is broad, but I would especially like to know what people think of his pre-American period. It's not fresh, but I remember being quite surprised by the early version of The Man Who Knew Too Much....I've seen some, but not all, and outside of The Man Who Knew Too Much, I think I've only seen American Hitchcock. I recently rearranged my netflix queue chronologically, and may add a film or two based on recommendations here.
Follow Ups:
One of his English period I am particulary fond is " Young & Innocent " one of his very few optimistic film, if not his only one.
Of course " The 39 Steps " The lady vanished " are the MUST.
All of his films are worth.
