Small town mechanic John Travolta is struck by a bolt of light from the shy on the night of his 37th birthday. He immediately aquires a superior intelligence which grows exponentially. He also aquires telekinetic powers. The townspeople are in wonderment at first but gradually grow suspicious. Throughout the movie Travolta woos a reluctant local divorcee with a child. Watchable.
