It's been a long time since I've seen this movie, but I remember there was something special about it--perhaps it was simply Emmanuelle Beart.

It does not stand repeated viewing. So it is all about a very good film, to a not so one.
But it is quite and somehow sad.
Sad being another word for solitude.

It was a somewhat typical French movie of that decade - easily lovable, and not just for her presence (I think that was before that awful, awful lips silicone injection), but the whole atmosphere where people felt and looked natural.Yes, good film... not great, but quite good.

Good lookin' gal, that one. Disappointing to hear about her new fish lips and whatever other atrocities she may have inflicted on herself. As I recall, Beart looked very nice in Mission Impossible.
