In Reply to: Is there a better American film actor (today) than Christopher Walken? posted by tinear on July 22, 2006 at 16:25:57:
Of recent, I particularly enjoyed him playing the angel Gabriel in the fist "Prophecy" movie (before they got silly). I think he suits what Cary Grant once said, "I wish I could be Cary Grant".
Follow Ups:
Walken got his start on Broadway as a dancerin musicals. He was once in a show with Tommy Tune as part of a chorus of very tall guys (I think it was a musical version of Sherlock Holmes).

Regular guy in that film. Also see "Who Am I This Time?" where he has a romantic role opposite Susan Sarandon (okay, I admit he's "damaged goods" in this one). His gifts include great comedic acting. Nobody does better SNL shows than Walken. "A glass of fine French sham-paaay-ne before you go?"
