Excellent, realistic and harrowing movie. French paratroops vs. Algerian nationalists in the Casbah of Algiers. Featuring bombs, graphic torture, all the stuff so loved by the imperialists of the world.

Training for urban warfare? Dunno. The lesson for me is to torture the right people to find out where the nationalist leaders live and then go and blow their buildings up, with them inside, of course. "Cut off the head", so to speak. Collateral damage is not an issue. I guess this is what the Israelis are perfecting in their West Bank war.

There is another, more important lesson. You'll have to see the flic for that one.
