Well it did not get that buttered something in The Last Tango from Brando? Or did he?
I mean in real life...
He may have...As B. was very homosexual at that period of filming...
Well as long you did not, don´t complain.
Which is your current favorite?

Never never use the wrong sort!
... 3 or 4 for 10 is Hall of Fame worthy. I liked him in Waterfront, Viva Zapata (where Anthony Quinn (not to mention Joseph Wiseman) overacted him into the background, and the original "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels with David Niven. If you accept the explosion of method acting into Hollywood in the 1940's, then you can't deny his relevance. His talent was a force; "precious, pretending faggot," as you sagaciously label him, or not. 😄
Do not know if Steve Michael Cain was not better..
.. in films like "A Street Car Named Desire"? Might just show what the fuss was about.
Apocalypse Now is also a great example of how a terrific actor absolutely dominates the frames he's in.
Sure he was "spoiled" and took wild chances later, but that's JAZZ in celluloid as far as I'm concerned - though I'm glad I didn't have to pay for overages that open ended character creation must cost.
Brando never lost it, he just became disenfranchised -imo.
In films like " Street ".. you see how his acting has become obsolete.
With very good results.
J.B.
Who?
Who hasn't?
Faineant!
Now all the good actors in the wolrd has not. Save of course the one in the U.S....

I like the film.
By all accounts he was a big pain in he ass, but he certainly had a lot of memorable roles.
Baba-Booey to you all!
How about Laughton? 1000000 better. And so more true to the spirit and situation of the real thing.
Peuh!

Thanks but you are very right.
But maybe, in the end the stronger actor remain in memory. On the whole...
The excellent contrast was in my mind the characters, not the relative skill of the actors. In fact I think it was the skills of each man that made the contrast so stark.
Baba-Booey to you all!
Not only excellent but so much truer.
Even if he did not walk but dance.
along with James Dean and Montgomery Clift are right in there with DiCraprio.

...the only reason he was in films is because he had a certain "look" which was popular in the 50's.
How dare you to put Marlon's name in the same post with Leonardo?
He was so cool in The Chase.

just wanted to give Coppola three weeks and charge more for over-run, shows up grossly overweight, etc. I liked him best in 'Island of Doctor Moreau'.

I did want to show my thought at what an overrated actor he was...And took the opportunity that Tin ( a big fan ) is on vacation far away...;-)
You mean his mumble-Mumble?
Coppola was good...At filming him, but poor guy I remember how Brando was the diva, and almost ruined this masterwork.
Even worse than Chuck Norris or Steven Seagal?
Norris

Brando was certainly the most overrated actor ( look at his " Cesar " part).
I enjoyed his performances in One Eyed Jacks and The Godfather. I didn't care, at all, for his performance in Streetcar Named Desire.
