The first, a plot to kill the First Lady. The second, to kill DeGaulle, which is the original story line.
Both based on the great novel (loosely for "The Jackal") by Frederick Forsythe published in 1971.
...The Glass Key...I picked a couple 1940's Brian Donlevy movies. And there's "The Candidate," too, Robert Redford. How about "Reds" with Warren Beatty? "Seven Days in May," and "Advise and Consent,' and 'The Best Man," with Henry Fonda. Too many good ones to count.

Winter Kills was decent, book far better. I'd also add the Starz series "Boss". Season 1 was awesome.and a huge +1 for the original All The King's Men

They told me it was about the Watergate... I watched... and re-watched... liked the movie, but did not see no Watergate there.
