No love or interest in the Florida Project? I liked this one. It is a acted film but plays more like a documentary. I especially liked the contrast between the innocence of children contrasted against their bleak conditions.
Interesting premise of using non actors in the roles (with the exception
of Defoe), but the reality of the situation was too much like watching a
documentary or the news, so, really what's the point of making a fictional
film that's SO non-fictional?
One of the main reasons we watched it was the accolades Defore got.
Well, he's the ONLY professional actor in it and it seemed like a walk
thru the park for him.
Has he ever been less than stellar in any of his (sometimes questionable) roles?

The praise Dafoe received is why I initially selected the film. As it turned out, he was just one of the characters. I thought he blended in very well. Totally agree with the documentary feel. It was a big success if that is what the director intended.
I prefer comedies or action films to take my mind off reality.
