The new Netflix/BBC series Bodyguard is clearly junk, but it is a "somewhat better junk". Yes, silly... and yes - predictable, but set in nice surrounding, and after two episodes still holding some - albeit moderate - promise. :)
Follow Ups:
Seriously, how does their crap compare to ours? I recently watched a Czech investigative series that was really simple. If the lead and the twins she collaborated with hadn't been so good looking I would have bailed after two epi's.
First - there were tons of very fine moves made there. Just today, in a car, the four of us remembered several. There was never - during my years there - a shortage of great films. Real masterpieces by any standard. With all the censorship going on, quite a few made it. From time to time we revisit some of them - they are largely available on Internet.
Second - there was steady stream of contemporary foreign films. Not a huge stream, but still plenty of American, European films, some Asian. Granted, most of them showed hard Western life.
Third - we had good access to foreign classics. They were shown in one or two theaters in the city, but they were active and always busy. So by the time we left at the age of 29, we were very familiar with world classics.
And fourth... those idiotic propaganda films, typically shown on local TV - some of them were actually quite stupid but funny, some of them we remember to this day.

No spoilers, but it's all downhill from there. :)
It ended with a huge fart. Going down and down, it finally hit its last episode, and that one took the prize in the dreck category. It was easily the stupidest terrorist show I have seen - apparently written by a bunch of ten-year-olds for some six-year-olds. To say it was a total cop out would be one huge understatement.
So, in spite of some moderately entertaining moments in the early episodes, my overall rating would be about 3/10.

"E Burres Stigano?"

If you could find a particularly interested pair of snails all bets would be off.
I checked, and now I reverse my decision. There's more life and mystery to snails. :)

Wanderlust with Toni Collete is pretty good.
