Watching a German mini-series is like attending a seven-course dinner, chewing each bite thirty-three times, being patient and determined, and being a bit sad.
This law enforcement story is based on a really flimsy plot. A group of kids, who meet in Catholic school, all hang out, rape and screw each other, and become enlightened over the olfactories. One novel, read by the group hottie, inspires one to become an experimental perfume maker.
This leads up to murders most strange in order to harvest tissues for the most enticing scent. Mercifully, this was just six episodes and, as referenced above, has stringent requirements to make you last. The last episode is quite topsy-turvy with a nice but predictable twist.
The English dubbing is quite good and makes it more bearable.
3 wonks for cinematography, intense characters, and a bit of skin
2 wanks for overly intense characters that slap each other around

I wonder if this is loosely based on the German novel of the same name by Patrick Suskind. That was very good. The movie was okay. I won't be watching this tv series.
No, that was the other movie but it's loosely related to the novel. The series is a typically German-" Square , Quadtratische, Gut" . Full of bleached out characters and long sequences of mechanical fucking in best German tradition. All those mini series seem to be heavily influenced by True Detective season 1. I do recommend it if anything -for understanding German Audio better :) You can fast forward that sex scenes , which we do. The actor who plays the Prosecutor would be perfect to impersonate Adolf H. I may be partial though
