Greetings to all, first time posting, looks like a great site!
I just got a Sony DVP-NS755V DVD and a Sony STR-DE985 A/V receiver.
The DVD has Digital and 5.1CH output jacks and the receiver has the same type of inputs.
Do I connect both outputs to the receiver or just use the digital out from the DVD?
Video connections are super S due to the fact that my older Sony XBR TV does not have component jacks.

Your first post, my first reply!
If you plan on using SACDs in your NS-755, the analog outputs will need to be hooked up. SACD will not output on the digital connection.

If the reciever has the Dolby Digital/DTS processing, then a single connection will work.

Yes, it does. So the Digital connection will handle all formats? There is no need to use the 5.1CH jacks at all?
I just want to make sure, because I only want to move the "system" once.
Thanks for putting up with a rookie!
