Can you tell me why it seems that sometimes and at certain times the audio and video on my SONY DVD player don't sync? I noticed the same in the Mall of America's Bose showroom on Attack of the Clones (on a screen so good you could clearly see which was CG, if you didn't already know.)Thanks,

for lip sync or something like it. I just posted some links a few weeks ago. I find it interesting that I have never seen this when fiddling wiht a DVD on my computer, but see it alot on stand alone players. That's just too weird for me.Anyway, its common, and most mfr's do not want to address the problem yet. The easiest fix is to just hit pause then play when you see it happen. THis will reset and resync everything for a bit. Yes it will come back.
Sorry, couldn't resist.....

There is a website for DVD Faqs that goes into this further. Sometimes it's the player, sometimes the disc and sometimes both. Don't know if their list is up to date but it will give you an explanation.
Yes, many reasons. Besides what's already mentioned here, sometimes it's even the DVD. Sometimes it's the differing delays between audio and video processing chains, so can even be in the receiver/decoder. Sometimes it's because people have their CC speaker delay set hugely...

I switched to Panasonic and no more problem. Pioneer seems okay as well.Could well be a bug in the firmware/ software of certain players
