i just purchased my first big screen sony kp53xbr200. I've noticed some channels come in very clear and some don't. (cable tv not digital yet) would a good cable from the wall to tv help? someone told me to get rabbit ears as well to help with reception????? any suggestions would be appreciated.
try boosting the cable signal via a cheap amp from radio shack. not sure what they are called. good luck.
I recently purchased a Mitsubishi 55" Gold series. While i am running a satellite receiver, i too am noticing exactly what your experiencing.Cable companies are simply receiving satellite broadcasts and pumping them into your house via a very, very long coaxial cable. This is one of the reasons that they are lower resolution than a direct satellite link.
I never really noticed how much the color or clarity changed when going from channel to channel on my smaller TV's before ( 27" RCA and a 27" Magnavox). Some channels are very washed out while others have too much red, etc.... It's hard to find a good balance.
I will probably optimize the color settings for movie playback via DVD and not worry about broadcast TV too much. Now my problem is finding a good DVD player. Sean

Ironically, after upgrading to better speakers I noticed the same can be said about the audio quality oer cable (different balance, etc. for every channel).I am going to try a Moster HTS-2000 line conditioner- perhaps you might want to look into it to0. Street price is under $140

satelllite dish, the bigger, the better
Better cabling does help, but an external antenna is the best way to get a clean signal. Cable is generally quite poor.
