hi,
i like old fashioned movies. i like books, witty repartee, and romance.
when you put those things together, you have a movie that i hope will
age gracefully, and become an old friend.
another recent arrival, in the old style, is 'A Walk in the Clouds'.
'a walk..' starts slowly, but becomes something special.
... witnessed by "Much Ado About Nothing" & "Speechless". I find the adversarial relationship adds a bit of reality. I found "You've Got Mail" had promise in droves, but chose to back away from that apsect, almost like the director was ashamed of it. The result IMHO wasn't good nor bad it was "Joe vs. the Volcano" once again.
ok,
so it ain't perfect. But i gotta say your comments are a bit harsh; and not just about the movie. I mean, if you want serious subjects, real acting, and plot out the wazoo; rent Bergman. Best to watch them all, chronologically.
