  The only major pitfall to the technology is that the LCOS panel itself has a rated lifetime of 20,000 hours. Compared to the 100,000+ hours of the DLP devices, that's pretty bad.

    the 20,000 hour limit is a reference to extension of future lamps to as much as 20,000 hours, not the life of the lcos chip.
