I am considering upgrading the hard drive my self, however, I'm not sure what consequences this has. I have been told this will void the waranty, however, I've owned it for 2 years and don't think there's a waranty anymore.

What did you find out about your message? Did you find out for sure it was the hard drive? Could is be something else?
