'Adelphia' supposedly sold me a 'digital package' last year. I noticed that on the new 'Scientific Atlanta' box they gave me, that the cable signal is still being fed into my house via a conventional coaxial cable (like the old cable systems). Isn't 'digital cable' supposed to be brought into the home via a phone line connection, much like high speed internet? Or can 'digital cable' be fed into the home cable receiving box via conventional coax cable too? I am confused.
Follow Ups:
No.Digital cable means that most channels are MPEG-2 encoded and transferred as data.
The set top box then performs MPEG-2 decoding for display on your television set.
