Abe:I have followed your comments in the video forum for quite sometime, and it seems as though you are quite knowledgeable. I would appreciate hearing your comments on NEC plasmas...that is, if your depth of knowledge includes this brand.
Follow Ups:
I think NEC is good but historically, if I'm not mistaken, I see them more as a commercial supplier rather than for the home. Many many years ago they made home TV sets but got out of the business. They may be back but I'm not up to speed. Joe, HELP!

The 42" and 61" residential models (what NEC calls their consumer model) with the silver bezels have a following. However, several owners of NEC's 50" model posted a few complaints on AVS Forum. This question was also posted on AVS Forum and he was given several links to check out in that thread.
NEC has announced some details about their next line and somewhere in the Plasmas and Flat Panel LCDs forum there is a link to this news. I haven't checked out their new line (M4/S), so I can't comment on those.
This line in the linked post below should say M 3 /S -- not M 2 /S:
" However, it was noted that along with the above image retention issue and non-Panasonic blacks, the 50" M2/S model had a problem with noticeable buzzing and possible power supply issues. "
