Maybe a bit off topic but....I removed the satellite dish from our home in Gulf Shores preparing for Ivan. At the time, I reasoned the easiest thing to do was cut the coax (4 leads plus a ground) at a convienent location and remove the sat dish and wiring intact then use connectors on the coax when I reinstalled (the cut was made approx. 4 ft. from the dish) Now it's time to reconnect & I'm wondering if anyone can recommend connection appropriate to the conditions (salty, moist air). What connection is likely to cause least signal degredation? Is there a box w/coax inputs & outputs that might be better that standard coax connectors?
Follow Ups:
My Gulf Shores beach condo is on the 4th floor of a fairly new highrise. I bought heavy duty electric storm shutters two years ago. Good news is I didn't get so much as damp carpet and all my stereo & video stuff is fine. (although the main floor, pool, and roof got clobbered). Bad news, power won't be back on for 4 to 6 weeks. And this is the time of year we liked to go down there. Sigh, maybe next year.

They make exterior rf coax connectors with o-rings, also "coax seal" to wrap the outside.
