I read that the Hi-Def satellite TV start up is going bust. They may end up selling off their bird and ground station to EchoStar (the Dish Satellite TV people). Anyone have more info on this? I don't get Voom but I was considering it. Sad.

Voom is being bought buy another company. I think the company that signed the letter of intent is the father buying it from Cablevision. This is from the Voom news. I am just releying info.

Voom goes bust has been one of those not-so-secret inevitabilities for a long time.I sure hope it's true about DISH buying Voom birds b/c God knows DISH could use the bandwidth for more HD programming. Of course, even with more bandwidth, DISH will like *(^(& up and add more shopping/gardening/gaming/fishing, etc, etc BS instead of HD, but that's MY problem..

EchoStar (the DISH people) are based here in Denver and from what I've been told by personal friends who worked there as computer programmers, the place is real back asswards, a bit incompetent, and not very employee friendly. I don't get Satellite TV yet but I'm leaning toward DirecTV but who knows... every outfit has it's little quirks.
