Its a ~100wpc 5.1 Dolby Digital receiver being auctioned off at www.egghead.com. With shipping it ought to cost under $200.Its missing (consider the AG-D9320 if you want most of these):
1. DTS
2. S-Video and component video switching, only has composite.
3. Nice binding posts - cheap sprung ones instead.
4. A bizillion delay modes and effects.
5. 24/96 dacs.It has, and the main reason I bought it:
1. Full 5.1 preamp outs. There is no decoder/preamp/tuner with remote that I know of that won't cost at least twice as much. And I get 5 amps for free should I not want external amps for all the channels. I got really pissed off at the absurd prices for seperate decoders when many of them don't look any better built than the ones in receivers or DVD players. So, now I have one and can modify/upgrade it like I would a higher priced version of the same thing.
Mine should arrive next week and I'll post how it sounds. Others commented at http://www.audioreview.com/reviews/Receiver/product_6534.shtml
Teac's best receiver the 9320 has reportedly been sold at Costco for about what you were looking to pay according to comments at audioreview.
