My current set-up connects a Pioneer DVD player using component video to a Rotel surround processor which in turn connects to the TV with similar cables. Now that I have got a Pioneer Kuro which comes with a HDMI connection, I wonder whether it is better to connect it direct to the DVD player (which also has a HDMI) as the Rotel does not have HDMI provision. For video, will this be a better set-up? Your experiences and advice will be of great help.
Thanks in advance.

hook them both up and switch between the the tv video inputs. mine dont sound good with the tv speakers so I turn the volume off when the rec is on.I like being able to see the dvd minu with hdmi.
I have not experemented enough with those 2 cables but I have a recorder with hdmi & it will not do 4.3 it stretches it. recorders set to 4.3 too.the s-video does 4.3
