Hi guys,
Helping out the father-in-law with this and could use some guidance.
OK, his cable box only has one HDMI output which he would normally use to feed his Panasonic plasma. He also uses wireless headphones that have analog RCA inputs. Can anyone recommend a device that will accept the HDMI signal and route it to the TV via another HDMI cable and at the same time provide stereo analog RCA outputs for connection to his wireless headphones?
Thanks much and Happy Holidays!

I also wonder if there wouldn't be an analog output on the TV?
What you are describing is typically called an "HDMI audio extractor".

The cable box doesn't have analog audio outputs that he can use?
It should, along with simultaneous output (HDMI + analog audio output).
If not, it's some really cheap Motorola aka crapola.
Pending an amazing discovery on your/his end, go to monoprice.com and get the HDX-401TA for $44.
It will do what you want, though you really shouldn't need it.
