I have a home theater set up using 4 Platinum Audio Trio floor standing speakers and a powered subwoofer. My center channel is a Platinum Audio center channel ( a Duo I believe but not sure). It came with the system and matches the other speakers in appearance except for size. I am using a Cinepro 3kse power amplifier and a Pioneer Elite sc-07 receiver.
I am considering changing the center channel to a Klipsch RC 64II. I feel the sound from the center is not as full and clear as I would like but I am not sure if it is the center channel or the receiver that I need to address.
I would also like some feed back on the equipment itself. I bought this system many years ago and feel it is a high quality system.
Thanks

Have you tried not using a center channel? If you get a good stereo image it may not be needed. After a lot of experimenting, I removed our center channel to good effect, both for music and HT.

I would keep with your current center channel, for best surround sound your center and all other speakers should be timbre matched. The Klipsch would sound quite different and you would no longer get seamless panning of sound effects.
If your receiver has auto speaker set up you should run that. If not, be sure your center is set in the menu to "small" which will send low frequencies to sub and should offer you a variety of crossover points. You could also try bumping the center volume up a dB or 2 to see if that helps. There is often a "night time" mode on receivers that limit the dynamic range, this makes the voices and sound effects at a more even volume and may help your issue.
Where is the center speaker placed? To be honest if none of the above suggestions help, based on the less than satisfactory performance of the center your mains are probably the same and could be time for new speakers all around.
Just a thought. Depending on your budget.....have you investigated a higher end power purifier? Use one . I recently lent my Ps audio p300 (old) to a friend for his Oppo blu ray. He didnt want to give it back. He said he was considering replacing his speakers. He said he could not believe how great his sound system improved. He is now looking for a power purifier. It also enhanced his picture. Note:this is a low power model. No longer made, but there are newer models. Cant use it on a high power TV.

Check watts. For power regenerator you cant use it at its max capacity.
