Just received the Toshiba 3109 and one of the menu ask me to pick "4:3" or
"4:3 Widescreen" which one is appropriate. I have a 4:3, 50" Toshiba RPTV.

Pick the 4:3 Widescreen mode. That means wide screen DVDs will remain widescreen, while 4:3 DVDs will remain 4:3. The 4:3 mode means ALL DVDs will be 4:3. Good luck, and I hope you enjoy the player. I just got mine and I love it. And make sure to set the black level to Enhanced.
