I would like to start building a sound system (5.1) around my 60 inch rear proj TV. I wear a hearing aid so my primary objective is to hear conversations as clear as possible. I've been thinking about a Martin Logan or Triad Gold as a start for the center speaker and I was curious as to what true audiophiles think of this.I am open to any suggestions and also open to any suggestion for a receiver. I initially will be ten feet away and when I move everything to my living room I will be 16-18 feet away. koozy

Thew center should match you're other mains (left & right). If someone goes from stage left to right, the very last thing you want is their voice to change. Ideally the center should be identical. But, this is quite impractical for almost all HT. I would assume you've selected mains that allow most lyrics to be understood. So, this advice shouldn't be contradictory.BTW, the speakers ideally should be placed in an equidistant arc which's also impractical but also fudgible with some tweaking.
....just my 2¢
