If possible, a Component input is preferable to S Video or composite.I think if these 3 were the only choices, I would opt for the Panasonic for the flat screen and picture quality.

I would agree, but it sounds like you are not comparing similar models. Check the manufacturer websites for more info. I know there is a Sharp with component input. The Sharp does not have a clock feature though.
