In search of a decent 20" TV with a component video or S-video input at least. I just saw the Sony website on the KV-20V80 which has a S-video input but no component video. Anyway, it seems inexpensive at $349 from the first mail order place I saw. Does Sony still make good picture tubes?
I heard some disparaging remakes about them in the late 90s as not being as good as they once were or is that the competition is simply catching up?
Any recommendations for something along that priceline is welcome. I am
sort of looking for TV/VCR combos but the ones the Sony make don't have S-video nor component in, but it's not a necessity, just a convience. Until recordable DVD players arrive I guess... if that's possible.

Why do you want component inputs on a monitor that size?
Check out broadcast monitors (not consumer). You're unlikely to find component inputs on a consumer monitor of 20". There's even less likelihood of finding a consumer TV/VCR model with component inputs. Those units are not considered high end enough for component inputs.
Sony makes fine monitors at all price points.
Sorry for the confusion, let me elaborate. I am setting up a very good mid-fi HT in a crappy location (bedroom). I am most likely getting a Panasonic A-120 DVD player which happens to have a component video out which I hear is the best format, little better than S-video cable. which
is why I was curious if any TV at that size would have it. just asking, I haven't even really looked at different brands except the Sony, which has a
S-video cable. I guess the tech. hasn't trickled down to the smaller TV's
yet! And the reason my TV is 20" is that my custom rack I made has a footprint only for a 20" tv or less and as it is my bedroom, I really don't need a huge TV when I'm going to be only like 12 feet away..
