I own the 30pw9815, the 30' version of the 34. Overall exceptional. Great color great line doubler. The menus are a little clunky to get around in. I wish it had two HD A/V inputs. This would allow a Set-Top box and a Progresive scan DVD player. I don't know of any HDTV that does at this time. I looked at the Loewe, not impressed. The tube on the Philips is much better IMHO. RCA has a new 38' TV that looks cool too.

Thanks for the input. I've been to two stores. At one, the Aconda had a much nicer picture. At the other store, the Philips took the prize. Obviously these sets aren't going to be tweaked for optimum performance at your local Good Guys.Last night, I saw the model you own. The DVD picture was absolutely stunning! The 34" model was playing the same DVD right next to it, but the picture wasn't as crisp and vibrant as the 30". Again, proper adjustment probably would have done the trick. Lot's of bells and whistles on the 30pw9815. A lot more than I would probably use, but it's nice to know they're available.
After all is said and done I may opt for the 30pw9815. Even though I'd be coming down from a Sony 36 Wega, I think the 16:9 aspect would more than make up for the decreased size in height.
I saw the RCA 38" model. Nice and big but the Philips kills it IMHO.
Thanks again for the unput. Please let me know if there is anymore info you want to add in ref. to the 30pw9815.
Regards,
Seth
According to folks at Sensory Science, the 38" Aconda will be out in late June - and from what people who saw it a CES say, it kills the 38" RCA
