it's hardly an either/or situation. There is only a few thousand dvd selections available at the moment, keep a vcr around for a while....
What you might consider is, say, a $300 pioneer, and a modest s-vhs deck.
Total cost is not much different, but you could have your cinematic cake and eat it too.
Gotcha' A big 10-4 on that note. I would like to wait until they come up with a format that I KNOW is going to stay. Until then, I'll enjoy the ride. The A-man
Well with the death of DIVX, DVD is the only format out there right now for movies, so is will probably stick around until HD-DVD's come around. Right now the big standards war is likely going to be for DVD-Audio
