My Vandies VSMs are made to mount on the wall to a bar with a lip that sticks out. The speaker has a matching metal bar that angles out in a V extending about 1/4" from the back of the speaker similar to a cabinet mounting bracket. I used a 10" bar with holes every 1" and put in about 4 or 5 screws per bar for each speaker. Maybe one in the stud and the rest were molly bolts. Mine weigh 31 pounds each so I didn't want them on my head.If I ever take them down, a little wall patch and touch up paint and no one will ever know.
on my way to Home Depot to buy parts for a kluge. Nicely made British brackets, no drilling of the speakers etc., support 55 lbs, only $50, in case anybody else needs to know.
Thanks. I'll have to use a similar number of fasteners. Originally I started with smallish easy to mount rear surrounds, but then I found the larger/better speakers really did make a difference in that position, so my mounting problems started.
