 A rather dubious pleasure, I must say! I will make sure to recommend it to my Israeli friends - the ones I am tired of. Wife saw the brief description on the envelope and wisely bailed out, accusing me of pushing my male trash ahead of her artistic endeavors... so I had a lonely late night screening.

I think the truth lies somewhere between "idiotic" and "bizarre", and it is good film to recommend to someone you dislike severely - start with your proctologist. Amazing amount of fun one can squeeze out of a tiny female bladder. :)

I washed my hands after dropping it in the mail box. Ready now for your next recommendation!

 I can't imagine recommending any film endorsed by Mr. Grits to an Israeli. Best of luck to you on that Victor... :-)

 special as film goers? They sure filmed this film in Israel with Israeli actors so I'm not sure why this would be verboten besides it being a satirical comedy-horror film?

 I have a Russian-Israeli-American guy on another forum, a perfect guinea pig.

I have thrown some bad Israeli films his directions before, but he always seems to like the chance to freshen up his Hebrew.

The Israelis are very resilient. :)

 by this mastepiece of parody and bizzarness. I'm thinking you aren't Russian but a country club southerner. I haven't seen a film yet that matches the creativity of melding one mishap after another. I have a copy so if you want another shot at good writing and film making I'll mail it to you.

Modern day The Comedy of Errors with stakes being life and death seems to describe it well enough. Add to this some totally depraved characters and you come even closer.

Am I feeling totally stupid having swallowed your bait? :) I think I was the only sucker, but hey, this is how you build and train your stamina! :)

 Creativity. I learned that parts of Israel looks like much like my home state. It's not rock and desert. Duh, we are on the same latitude. The good looking blond was in another such film about end times in Jerusalem. Jewish film makers can be as absolutely bizarre as Russians but not as long winded.

 ...is the fact that the local populous does not give rat's ass about it.

There had been HUGE influx of all sorts of cinematographic talent in the seventies, and later, mainly from the USSR, where fine film making had reached unquestionably high levels. And yet virtually none of it got any traction in their new land. Some actors spent a few years banging their collective heads against the wall, then went back to Russia, where their names and talents were in demand. Many began visiting places like NYC, Phila, Boston and LA, giving performances to the local immigrant communities, often at rinky-dink joints, and for peanuts.

I guess - just different priorities... but the net result is quite sad - a cinema that is behind that of many developing countries.
