I wasn't familiar with the brand, but a friend told me of a 1 day only deal & I purchased my 50" 4k tv for just shy of $300 - and it came with a 5 year, in home warranty!

Currently, at 55", their 4K set runs $650.

Have been VERY satisfied with my TV - especially with 4k content.

There were Samsungs in the $700.00 range too, the one I got has their Quantum Dotand other PQ features that drives the price up. For twice what I paid, I could have gotten the LG 55" OLED. But if someone wanted cheap $349 for any 55" is a crazy price.

Last year a Vizio in our home office suffered a major board failure. Vizio's repair center said many of their TVs have the identical failure and that the repair would take longer than usual due to so many units in their shop for the same problem (the power "On" light is illuminated, audio is fine, but no picture). The repair quote was exorbitant and nearly as much as the TV itself. I contacted Vizio for help, but since the TV was 5-6 weeks beyond the one-year warranty they said it was not their problem. I appealed and was told to stop bothering them. The Vizio was tossed into the garage and replaced by a lower cost Panasonic, whose video performance exceeds that of the Vizio.

In our house we have in use two plasmas (Panasonic and Samsung) and two LCD/LED televisions (Sony and Panasonic). All have been problem-free.

But be aware, some cheap brands have no program guide at all. I have a fairly new 32" Magnavox (bedroom) has a great picture, about as good as my plasma....but no guide, no time readout, no program description. This only matters if you only use over-the-air broadcasts.

Hornlover Manufacturer Posts: 2529 Joined: March 8, 2002	According to Consumer Reports, Panasonic, Sanyo and Dynex (Best Buy) has the fewest failures (3%), Sony is at 4%, and Samsung, LG and Sharp are at 5%. Visio and Westinghouse are at 7%. Those are the major brands.
