Foreign films in hicksville and The City of Lost Children

I live in a blue-collar, semi-rural area where the "foreign films" shelves are stocked with Jackie Chan movies...heh heh...trying to find some of the foreign recs here is well, pointless.

However, I did run across a truly fascinating French film (I just bought a DVD player, so I'm renting everything I can just to experience the thrill of NOT rewinding:-). The title is "The City of Lost Children" and I'd highly recommend this for the sheer cinematography if nothing else. Insanely interesting characters (the little girl heroine is fabulous) in rich detailed settings that depict a civilization patchworked together like the war-mobiles in Mad Max films. I forgot to get the directors/producers names and I know the starring actor by face but will have to guess at his name - Ron Perlman???

Anyway, if you haven't seen this film, it's worth a look.
