"Hardcore"...Paul Schrader is this month's featured director on ENCORE. In a nutshell..."The Searcher's" meets the porn industry. It really hit's the proverbial "mark", in all catagories...story, acting...George C. Scott, Season Hubley, and even Peter Boyle's supporting role, is spot-on here, with Boyle, at one point, evoking the original film, by calling Scott's character "Pilgrim". Priceless. Unfortunately, though it's a timeless topic, it was...and still is...too close to home, and tooooo unseemly, for any audience. It's a genuine shame.
"Bridget Jones Diary"....a Chick Film, that charms, and doesn't turn one off with the subtle, Ugh-ly Female Politics. Hugh Grant is even good...and that's saying alot. Very entertaining.
