what are some of the better rentals that are around?
i think last year, if it was last year?, i found "memento" to be the classiest film i saw. what i liked about it especially was where the plot eventually led: that it was the old nemesis, self-deception that really was the enemy after all.
the best film this year, i think was "heist" with gene hackman. this is just a well-done crime action movie. oceans eleven wasn't bad, but heist is just a good film.
worst film i remember was "the perfect storm". where they tried to make american heros out of people who had boats. please! i guess they believed that put a certain music and a certain portayal to anything they want to and we are suppose to just bite into it.
this year's worst so far was "when we were soldiers". maybe the war action might have been good. maybe that's what the director is good at? i don't know, i never made it there. if so, then the director should have hired someone else to do the beginning of the film. but i don't think any of the film could be good because the mentality of the film is ........
i guess a bad movie is when you feel like they are trying to make a fool out of you. and you feel like you just can't bite into the garbage.
