I picked up the"Ninth Configuration" on dvd today. What a great film. It is so much better in the 2:35 ratio than in the pan and scan that I am familiar with. Peter Blatty of "Exorcist" fame directed it and it was cast wonderfully. The film is highlighted by great writing and many literary referances that I'm sure would be lost on some, but the concept itself is happily un-hollywood in its approach. A group of Vietnam veterans (This is during the war), being treated in a Transylvanian castle that has beed transplanted to California! There is also the question of whether the soldiers are just dodging combat... If you liked the film in the past, get the dvd! If you have not seen it, its worth a look.
