Yes DVDs: House of Blues vs. Symphonic

4.47.90.159

I own and enjoy Yes's Live at the House of Blues DVD. The sound may not be reference quality, but it sounds fine to my ears.

I'm not a completist, but have considered purchasing Symphonic Yes. However, it looks like a good portion of its content overlaps w/ House of Blues.

How good is Symphonic Yes & how does it compare to House of Blues? (I am not referring to the song list, which can be read from the back cover of Symphonic Yes DVD).

I know Symphonic Yes has Howe playing some solo acoustic numbers. Does the camera stay on him? Any close up shots?

I do not like much DVD music camera work--I want to watch the performers--close up if possible, but the cameraman often lingers on the crowd, backup singers, supporting cast, even showing the bass player DURING the lead guitar break, etc.

Most distracting is the tendency to rapidly skip from scene to scene--refusing to stay longer than 5 seconds w/ any particular scene. As a guitarist, my interest is in focusing on the musicians, and staying there for as long as possible.

Thanks.
