Thanks .I read the review. He writes well and sensibly.Still, there's more to Tarantino's flick then he would have a reader believe.First, I hate the word hommage .How do you differentiate it from plagiarism?Pilfery? Can a Brit say" I didn't commit adultery with your wife.I was merely making a hommage to your marital bliss!"Tarentino takes from everyone with gusto to create interesting, rapid fire see/hear effects. He is more an art director for a photo shoot than a serious film maker. We are dazzled by images and tunes past and present, the form, while horrified by the violence , the content. No Clint Eastwood is here to provide moral gravity to the carnage. It is meant to be kewl and only kewl as you say. This is the tragedy of his work: there is no philosophical intricacy to the characters or the story. Here Duncan is correct.Even when he isn't using animation, it is still a cartoon, a videogame.Maybe that's why he is keeping score in the credits.

Movies are changing as they did in France in the sixties.Somebody will use all this new stuff to great effect soon. It's an exciting time in film.
